Day 1 Bangkok
Fast-paced and fascinating Bangkok boasts some great sights. Arrive early to admire the Wat Pho or to indulge in some retail therapy.
Days 2-3 Luang Prabang
Cool off by the spectacular Kuang Si Falls before boarding a riverboat to the revered Pak Ou Caves, filled with hundreds of images of Buddha.
Days 4-5 Vientiane
Explore laid-back Vientiane by bike, on foot or by jumbo. Make sure to also visit the colourful morning market - it's open all day.
Day 6 Halong Bay
Enjoy a relaxing cruise on beautiful Halong Bay amid magnificent limestone karsts.
Days 7-8 Hanoi
This is a city of contrasts: be delighted by a traditional water puppet performance and pay respects to the father of modern Vietnam at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex.
Day 9 Hue
An imperial past comes to life in Hue, where we wander the great walled citadel, the Nguyen emperors' tombs and the stately Thien Mu Pagoda.
Days 10-11 Hoi An
Travel past iridescent rice paddies and peaceful fishing villages en route to Hoi An, an ancient town famed for its traditional architecture, talented artists and tailors.
Days 12-13 Ho Chi Minh City
Experience the buzz of Vietnam's economic hub from the seat of a slow-moving cyclo.
Days 14-15 Phnom Penh
Crawl into the Chu Chi Tunnels for an insight into the American War. Later, reflect on the tragedy of the Killing Fields, just a stone's throw from the Cambodian capital.
Days 16-18 Siem Reap/Angkor Wat
The extraordinary temples of Angkor are an awesome finale to this Indochina adventure.
