North Western Australia Explorer Tour
See the highlights of the Kimberley region. cruise the tranquil waters in Kakadu and Katherine Gorge, journey through the rugged ranges of the Kimberley region, stay in the unique El Questro Wilderness Park and tour a Diamond Mine.
DAY 1 - DARWIN
Arrival in Darwin today and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Tonight meet your Scenic Tours' Tour Director and fellow touring companions over a special welcome dinner.

DAY 2 - DARWIN - KAKADU NATIONAL PARK - YELLOW WATERS CRUISE
Travel to the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. Visit the Park's Headquarters and Bowali Visitor Centre. Stop at Nourlangie Rock to inspect ancient Aboriginal rock art. Delight in a guided cruise of picturesque and tranquil Yellow Waters billabong where you may encounter jabirus, brolgas or even giant crocodiles basking on the bank!
Overnight: Kakadu.
DAY 3 - KATHERINE GORGE CRUISE
An opportunity this morning to fly over Australia's largest National Park - Kakadu (own expense). Travel to Katherine and enjoy a guided cruise through spectacular Katherine Gorge, a system of 13 gorges which drain the Arnhemland Plateau. Marvel at the towering red ochre sandstone walls as your local guide points out ancient Aboriginal rock art and unique wildlife.
Overnight: Katherine.
DAY 4 - LAKE ARGYLE - ORD RIVER CRUISE - KUNUNURRA
Travel west and cross the border into Western Australia. Continue your journey to Lake Argyle before cruising on the Ord River to Kununurra. Enjoy the sunset over the lake before arriving in Kununurra.

DAY 5 - RIVER IRRIGATION SCHEME - 5 RIVERS LOOK OUT - BUNGLE BUNGLE DAY TOUR OPPORTUNITY
You have an opportunity this morning for a scenic flight over the World Heritage listed Bungle Bungle Ranges (own expense - see Tour Inclusions). Enjoy a leisurely morning before touring the enormous Ord River irrigation scheme and farmland. Continue to Wyndham and stand in awe at the 5 Rivers Lookout. Travel to the acclaimed El Questro Wilderness Park, a million acre Wilderness Park set in the stunning outback Kimberley landscape.

DAY 7 - EL QUESTRO - ARGYLE DIAMOND MINE TOUR - HALLS CREEK
Admire the striking colours of the massive Carr Boyd Ranges as we travel to the world's largest single producer of diamonds - the Argyle Diamond Mine for a guided private tour. See the huge open cut pit (subject to being open to the public-closed in shoes required) and the massive machinery required to operate this mine.

DAY 8 - FITZROY CROSSING - GEIKIE GORGE CRUISE
Continue to the Fitzroy River where you will cruise through the exquisite Geikie Gorge with its unusual white banded walls.
Overnight: Fitzroy Crossing.
DAY 9 - BOAB PRISON TREE - DERBY - BROOME
Travel to Windjana Gorge National Park (subject to road conditions) renown for its ancient landscape and aboriginal significance. Visit Derby's enormous Boab Prison Tree. Take the opportunity for a scenic flight over the Buccaneer Archipelago (own expense). Journey to tropical Broome.

DAY 10 - BROOME - SCENIC FREECHOICE
