The Western Australia Wildflower Experience

Western Australia is renowned for its spectacular wildflowers which erupt into colour each Spring. You will see wonderful displays of these unique flowers, visit a wildflower farm and meet a wildflower expert. Tour the Margaret River and travel along the spectacular coastline. Step back in time and pan for gold in Kalgoorlie. Visit Wave Rock and be amazed by the changing scenery of the National Parks.

DAY 1 - PERTH

Be met and transferred to your hotel located in the heart of the city. Enjoy time at leisure before meeting your Tours Tour Director and fellow travelling companions for a welcome drink and dinner.
Overnight in Perth.

DAY 2 - PERTH MINT - FOREST HERITAGE CENTRE (BD)

This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Perth Mint followed by devonshire tea in the Tea Gardens. Depart Perth and journey to the Forest Heritage Centre which is built of rammed earth in the shape of a large jarrah bough to learn about jarrah wood and forests from your local guide. Travel along the spectacular coastline to Busselton where you can take the opportunity to walk to the end of Busselton Jetty.
Two night stay in Busselton.

DAY 3 - MARGARET RIVER - CAVEWORKS - EAGLES HERITAGE - WINERY

Travel to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where your local guide will explain the history of the old lighthouse. Visit Caveworks and Mammoth Cave, to learn about these spectacular limestone formations. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore the Margaret River township. Visit Eagles Heritage which houses the largest collection of birds of prey in Australia. You'll learn about unique wildlife and have an opportunity to meet these magnificent birds close up. Finish your day tasting the local wines which the Margaret River area is renowned for.

DAY 4 - TRAMWAY - GLOUCESTER TREE - VALLEY OF THE GIANTS - ALBANY

Travel south and visit the famous Gloucester Tree before joining the delightful Pemberton Railway for a breathtaking ride through towering Karri and Jarrah forests. Continue to the Valley of the Giants and walk along the canopy, which takes you through spectacular giant tingle trees.
Two night stay in Albany.

DAY 5 - WHALEWORLD - WILDERNESS CRUISE

This morning tour Torndirrup National Park to capture the sight of spectacular rocky coastal formations, The Gap and Natural Bridge. Experience Albany's seafaring history at Whaleworld, a fascinating whaling museum located in Australia's last operational whaling station. This afternoon enjoy a Wilderness and Geology Cruise, you may even some migratory whales (seasonal).

DAY 6 - STIRLING RANGES NATIONAL PARK - ESPERANCE

See the beautiful Stirling National Park, a botanic reserve abundant with wildflowers. Continue to Bluff Knoll where you'll be able to take in the natural beauty of the Stirling Ranges. Reach Esperance and be amazed by the magnificent coastline with its sparkling blue waters and gleaming sand.
Overnight in Esperance.

DAY 7 - KALGOORLIE - GOLDEN MILE - MINING HALL OF FAME

Journey to the gold rush town of Kalgoorlie and follow the Golden Mile, said to have been the richest square mile of gold bearing earth in the world. Tour Hannan Street and observe the abundance of Victorian-style hotels in the town. Arrive at the Mining Hall of Fame where you'll have the opportunity to pan for gold, watch gold being poured or even put on your hard hat and go down a mineshaft.
Stay overnight in Kalgoorlie.

DAY 8 - COOLGARDIE - WAVE ROCK - HIPPO'S YAWN - HYDEN

Visit Coolgardie and see its wide streets lined by grand stone buildings, mixed with corrugated iron and timber homes, reflecting both the wealth and impermanence of the gold rush. Journey to Hyden where our local guide will show you the unusual rock formations of Wave Rock and Hippo's Yawn.
Overnight in Hyden.

DAY 9 - YORK - MOTOR MUSEUM - PERTH

Travel to York one of Western Australia's most historic towns and inspect the York Motor Museum with its wonderful collection of classic and vintage cars. Continue on to Perth for the next two nights.
Two night stay in Perth.

DAY 10 - PERTH

Scenic FreeChoice Inclusions All inclusive, choose from: (1) cruise and tour famous Rottnest Island famous for its unique Quokka colony (small mammal); or (2) a Swan River Cruise to Fremantle and a relaxing tram car tour; or (3) a local Perth city sightseeing tour including Kings Park; or (4) a Swan Valley Wine Cruise with lunch. This evening is free for you to experience Perth's many restaurants.

DAY 11 - THE PINNACLES - ALLAN TINKER WILDFLOWER EXPERT

Travel to Nambung National Park, home of bizarre studs of limestone jutting from the sand, known as the Pinnacles. Visit Western Flora Park and take a tour with international recognised wildflower expert Allan Tinker. Described as the 'wildflower wizard' and having 3 wildflower species named after him, your tour will be a unique insight to the wonders of Western Australian wildflowers.
Overnight in Geraldton.

DAY 12 - KALBARRI NATIONAL PARK - HAMELIN POOL

Visit Kalbarri National Park famous for its extraordinary river gorge scenery and wildflowers. Travel to Eagle Bluff (subject to road conditions) to admire dramatic views from the cliff top lookout. Visit Hamelin Pool to see the world's best known colony of stromatolites (fossilised micro-organisms) which date back to the beginning of life on earth.
Stay overnight in Monkey Mia.

DAY 13 - MONKEY MIA DOLPHINS - SHARK BAY - GERALDTON

Travel to the World Heritage listed Monkey Mia, a rare place where wild dolphins come to the shore (subject to dolphin appearance). Spend time with these friendly creatures of the sea and perhaps even see other marine life such as sharks, whales, turtles, manta rays and dugongs, which inhabit Shark Bay.
Overnight in Geraldton.

DAY 14 - WILDFLOWER FARM - NEW NORCIA

Watch out for beautiful springtime wildflowers as you travel to the Western Wildflower Farm. Enjoy a tour and see the flowers being packed for export. Visit New Norcia, a piece of old Spain in the middle of the Australian bush. See the imposing monastery, a sample of fine European architecture and the fascinating museum, containing everything from the history of the mission to paintings by Spanish and Italian masters. Continue to Perth. This evening enjoy a special farewell dinner.
Stay overnight in Perth.

DAY 15 - PERTH

Wildflower season

One of Western Australia's most colourful attractions is its spectacular and unique wildflowers which burst into colour across the state. Generally every year between August and November a startling transformation takes place as the wildflowers erupt in a massive carpet of colour. It is a truly wonderful spectacle and we will take you to the best places to see them including Kalbarri and Stirling Ranges National Parks. You'll also enjoy a guided tour to a fascinating wildflower farm to see the flowers and being packed for export.
