New Zealand Honeymoon
G’day!
Thanks for visiting our website.
Congratulations on your engagement and how exciting that you are planning to enjoy your Honeymoon in New Zealand.
Go Walkabout Travel is your New Zealand Honeymoon Destination Experts and we have been creating dream honeymoons since 1988 for our clients from the USA and Canada.
Before we start creating your luxury Honeymoon Package there are several things you need to know!
1/ Your name on your airline ticket must be the same as on your passport. So please do not book your Honeymoon airline tickets in your married name unless you have had your passport already updated.
2/ When departing from the USA and Canada, you lose a day when flying to New Zealand; for example, if you left North America for your Honeymoon in New Zealand on the 01st July, you would arrive on the morning of the 03rd July. On your return, you usually arrive back in North America on the same date you departed New Zealand.
3/ Jetlag always hurts the worst when you return from New Zealand. So try to leave yourself at minimum a day to recover before returning to work.
4/ New Zealand’s winter months are from 01st June until 30th August. While the North Island can be OK in some areas to visit during these months, it may be different in the South Island, where you may have snow and inaccessible roads. Also, many boutique travel suppliers may close over the winter months because it is their offseason.
5/ If you are traveling on a US or Canadian Passport, then an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Authority) is required to enter New Zealand. The Passport must be valid for six months from the date you arrive back in North America, and of course, you must have no past criminal records!
6/ You may wish to combine a stopover or two with your New Zealand Honeymoon. Fiji, The Cook Islands, Tahiti, and Australia are all options and can be easily combined.
7/ Be mindful of how much time you truly have to enjoy your Honeymoon in New Zealand. Instead of trying to jam in several countries, you are often better spending the extra time in New Zealand only.
8/ The best way to get around during your vacation in New Zealand is to self-drive and fly. By self-driving, you will have access to some of those more quaint places which you just would not get on a normal bus tour.
9/ Your Honeymoon needs to be planned and booked early. New Zealand is a very popular country to visit and because it is quite small compared to Australia there are fewer choices for accommodation etc. Your New Zealand Honeymoon Package will take time to put together with consultation between yourself and your Travel Expert.
