G’day!
Thanks for visiting our website! We at GoWalkabout Travel are your Australia and New Zealand Travel Specialists for Denver Colorado and surrounds.
We have been designing customized itineraries for our clients from Denver since 1988! You can trust that our Downunder Travel experts know the South Pacific like the back of their hand.
Our New Zealand and Australia Travel Specialists in Denver are born and raised in Australia and New Zealand- you are guaranteed to receive the specialized knowledge that only a local would know…. plus you can practice your Aussie and Kiwi slang so you sound like a true expert when you arrive.
Check out some of our personalized tips from our Australia and New Zealand Travel Experts on what you need to be mindful of when planning an Australia or New Zealand Vacation from Denver.
1/ If you are a US Citizen you will need a visa when enjoying a vacation in Australia or a business trip in Australia. Your Australian Travel Specialists can assist you with these. You need to make sure you have at least 6 months validity left on your passports from the date that you arrive back into the USA and also declare any criminal records up front otherwise you may be denied entry. A Visa is not required when you have a holiday in New Zealand but you still need to make sure the above applies to you.
2/ Like anywhere in North America, flight and traffic delays can cause mayhem and a really bad start to your holiday! If you departing from Denver Airport and traveling in from Colorado Springs, Aspen or Boulder, etc it is way better to be checked in and enjoying a drink then to be stressed at the beginning of your dream vacation.
3/ Remember you lose a day when flying to both Australia and New Zealand. So if you depart on the 01st May from Denver you would arrive in New Zealand or Australia on the 03rd May.
4/ Jet-lag always hits the hardest when returning back to Denver after enjoying your luxury vacation in Australia and New Zealand. Always allow yourself an extra day or two before going back to work. Our Australia and New Zealand Travel Agents fly this route many times per year and they are all adamant you need extra days to not be walking like a zombie!
5/ Always plan to depart a day or two early if you have a guided tour in New Zealand or Australia booked. This will allow you some extra time not only to adjust to the time zone but also to not stress if your flight is delayed with connecting onto your coach tour. Of course, your Travel Agent is always there to assist you if there are any problems with our 24/7 emergency number when on your trip.
6/ Book early! We need time to start planning and designing you a once in a lifetime custom itinerary to travel DownUnder. The earlier you book the better chance you have of getting to stay in the best accommodation options and getting first choice on small group tours- plus your Australia and New Zealand Vacation Specialists can truly get to know what you are after without feeling rushed!
7/ Consider booking a mixture of accommodation when planning a trip to New Zealand and Australia. There are some very restrictive luggage conditions on some domestic flights in the South Pacific. If you are going for several weeks or more you will want to have access to some laundry facilities. Your accommodation choices range from luxury high-end island retreats in The Whitsunday Islands, glamping in a true Australia outback experience at Ayers Rock or bed and breakfasts and luxury lodges in New Zealand.
8/ Be aware of different time zones! Just like North America not all regions in Australia have Daylight Saving. When on your flight always listen to the flight attendant to check if the time has changed. Even cities that sit above each other on a map have different time zones during daylight saving… i.e Sydney and Brisbane.
9/ Keep an eye on the Denver Airport website on your day of departure! It is really important that you check and double check the Denver Airport website departures to make sure your flight is operating on time. Most airlines these days do not advise travelers if there are any schedule changes or delays right prior to a flight date. If they do it is usually way after the fact! If you see any changes which may affect your trip then make sure you contact your Aussie or Kiwi Travel Agent for assistance- that is what we are there for remember!
We look forward to designing you a customized vacation from Denver to Australia or New Zealand. We can tailor-make you an amazing once in a lifetime luxury trip whether you are planning an action-packed family holiday, attending a conference, celebrating a wedding anniversary, taking advantage of that well-deserved graduation gift, or finally getting to relax on that romantic honeymoon.
